David Weninger, Head Coach U10 03/04

David grew up playing minor hockey in Calgary. With a passion for the game, he went on to excel in the collegiate and professional ranks. His background is listed below.

Team won 1993 Mac's Midget Tournament (Calgary AAA Flames)

Team won 1995 Centennial Cup  (Top Junior A Team in Canada) (Calgary Canucks)

1995: Calgary Canucks rookie of year and Most Valuable Player of year and Playoffs

1995/6 to 98/99: Hockey Scholarship to Michigan Tech (WCHA)

1996: Michigan Tech Freshman of Year Award

1996: Drafted  3rd RD (74th overall) by Washington Capitals

1998: WCHA all-star team that Traveled to Switzerland for Zug Cup

1999: Michigan Tech Most Valuable Player Award

1999-2000: Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins (AHL Pittsburgh Penguins)- Earned first Team Win in Club History

Started own Goaltending Program in Minneapolis from 2000-2009 working with various High Schools and youth Programs

Goalie Coach for St.Cloud State Huskies(Div 1 WCHA mens hockey) (2003,2004 seasons)

Coach Weninger believes in creating an atmosphere that will foster player self confidence, develop high self-esteem and build a strong character. He is committed to delivering the highest possible development and competitive learning experience possible, with an emphasis on teaching sportsmanship, leadership, discipline and respect to help his players prepare for life’s competitive environment.
