Coach Strain played hockey growing up in British Columbia, Canada and Manitoba, Canada. After graduating from the University of Victoria with a degree in Computer Science Paul worked in Toronto, Ontario for a short period and then moved with his wife, Kathy, to Houston in 1995. Since coming to Houston, he has played in the adult leagues in Houston.
Over the last 11 years, Coach Strain has coached almost every level in youth hockey, from in-house and select programs dedicated to our younger skater’s development, to high school prep programs and bantam & midget travel teams. Paul’s dedication and passion to the sport is well known in the Houston area. His commitment to creating a competitive learning environment that focuses on development, while teaching sportsmanship, leadership, discipline and respect, will serve his players well.
Paul served as our Midget Major A head coach for the 2012/13 season guiding his team to win the SWSHS Midget Major A championship.
Paul received his level 4 USAH Coach's certification during in 2006 season and has 4 sons aged 14, 14, 14 and 16 that play hockey.
